1st Degree Event – Brother Rome Saratan

Welcome our newest member with the rank of First Degree. Brother Romulo Saratan, has been a member of St Joseph’s Parish community for more than twenty years. He brings with him church service specialties as a Eucharistic Minister. He has helped us on several Parish Picnic events and is ever glad to join the membership with our activities. In this photo Brother Rome (left) with GK Richard Aloysius during the celebrations.

Brother Rom has young adult children, is happily married and comes with the the urgent need to give back to St. Joseph’s community. We exemplified Brother Rom’s entry towards full Knighthood during this month’s general meeting, and followed the meeting with a welcoming fellowship. Here are some photos from that evening

The Grill Repair!

March 2013 was a stellar month for the Council. Our only possession, the Breakfast grill gave up its ghost and refused to work with us in our effort to provide the community with the famous ‘Parish Breakfast’ event. Well, old reliable grill gave us 24 years of service, cooked many a breakfast, and brought the community in fellowship all this while.

Our effort to find a suitable vendor to fix it for us was declined due to the shortage of funding. Nevertheless, with the grace of God and the fraternal spirit of members, Brother Stefan Ziemnicki volunteered to provide space, tools, and equipment to repair the grill. Brothers Mark Pan (PGK), Samuel Hu (FS) and Richard Aloysius (GK) provided the needed technical knowledge and hands on effort.

Here is the event in pictures:

Parish Dinner & Dance – A Black and White affair

The Parish Community celebrated St. Joseph’s Feast Day and the beginning of our 101st year as a Parish.

The event was a black and white affair, as is visible in the photo alongside. The brothers attending also provided entertainment and manned the bar, thanks to Brother Dennis Kwan, PGK, (4th from left).

In this photo, we have four charter members (Edmundo Arce, Pat Tierney, Brian Derrick and David Ho) four Past Grand Knights (Mark Pan, Dennis Kwan, Brian Derrick and John Kai) and the Financial Secretary Samuel Hu. Our newest member, Brother Justin Loewen is 3rd. from right.

Overall, it was a joyous gathering of the community, and a successful fundraiser indeed! Well done brothers of St Joseph’s Council 9846!
